Which are my fertile days?

Every woman’s fertile days are different. In women with a consistent menstrual cycle, they are usually mid-way through the cycle. Methods to identify fertile days are: over-the-counter ovulation tests, special diagram of body temperatures, and ultrasound screening.

When should I contact a fertility doctor?

After a year of unprotected, coordinated sexual contact that does not result to conception or when the age of the female partner is advanced (over 40 years). Of course, if you have concerns regarding your fertility, you can contact a fertility expert at any time.

How many days do IVF injection treatments last?

Usually about ten days, but this may vary based on the treatment protocol selected by your physician or the responsiveness of each woman’s ovaries.

What happens if I miss a dose of my medication?

Contact the Thessaloniki IVF Center and a member of the staff will provide directions.

What is the preparation for the day of egg retrieval?

You must have nothing to eat that morning and arrive at the Center on time. Also, it is useful to inform us about any allergies you may have.

What is the preparation for the day of embryo transfer?

No special preparation is required. Just drink lots of fluids so as to have a full bladder during the procedure.

What should I do if the pregnancy test is positive after an IVF treatment?

Inform your doctor and continue the treatment assigned to you.

When can I try again after a failed attempt?

You can usually repeat an IVF cycle three months after a failed attempt, unless you have scheduled tests or an alternative plan with your doctor.
